We are still working on getting to know tumblr, lol! Anyway, we finished another costume we wanted to show you all. This is a swan queen, made by Anja & Sanne together. We designed it together, Anja made the jacket and Sanne made the skirt and train. It’s worn by Sanne. What do you think?

Here is our finished costume for a costumer who wanted an outfit like in the “Ewigkeit” scene from the musical Tanz der Vampire. The legendary British admiral Lord Nelson was our source of inspiration for creating this character. It comes with a jacket, waistcoast, cravatte and sash. Chalk, dye and teared fabric were used to make it look dirty and worn as is to be expected with a vampire that crawls out of his grave and lies in the ground a lot of the time.

Almost finished, the dress we made on commission. It’s Christine’s (played by Emmy Rossum) Masquerade dress from the Phantom of the Opera movie. There will be one last fittingsession to adjust the skirt length and then she is done!

I want this so much.

Thank you for the compliment! If you ever decide you want a dress made, we do commission as well :)

For a long time, I (Anja) have been wanting to add a big dress from the era of Marie Antoinette, to show our wide range of skills. It had to be something spectacular. And then last night (7th of Januari 2012) I suddenly came up with this ‘landscape dress’ design.
On the front of this dress, you can see various garden-like elements (trees and flowers). The skirt matches a white lane with trees which leads to a white castle on a mountain which will be embroidered on the bodice. On the backside, there will be a waterfall-like cape that washes down the mountains into the green surroundings of the skirt. Details like birds and butterflies will be added as well.

Hello and welcome!
We are trying something new next to Facebook & Hyves with our sewing studio. We are very much looking forward to explore Tumblr!
Making costumes is our passion
We, Anja Frenaij from Atelier Phantasma and Sanne Hazemeijer from Atelier Helena love to make costumes. We combined our forces and started working together as Phantasma & Helena. We make them for ourselves as well as on commission.

Our sources of inspiration are very numerous, from musicals to movies and from locations to different people or animals. Take a look at the different photoalbums to get a hint of what we are doing. Everything you will see is a product of our complete devotion; we believe in what we are doing and want to make everything as perfect as it can be.

We have been complimented several times on our exquisite eye for detail; it’s just the way we think clothing/costumes/dresses should be made. Full of attention, love and detail; or not at all. For more information: www.atelierphantasma.nl. (www.atelierhelena.nl is still in progress). Or: www.facebook.com/Phantasma.Helena

Are those Sarah costumes? Either way, they’re gorgeous!

Yes they are! :) Mine (right) is more like Vienna 1997/1998 en Anja’s (left) is more Oberhausen 2008.
